I am hoping so. I want to get a tablet but would like to be able to swap files with an external hard drive. I was thinking about a nexus 7

The Nexus 7 can do it with a flash drive using USB OTG, but I believe it was a root only feature. Shouldn't be too hard on a Nexus device

I think it depends on the HDD. I have done it before with a flash drive.
