why root?

Why Root? There are only a few apps that cannot be removed. There isn't a custom interface to about. There isn't any features locked out like on a cell phone. ICS is coming out for it. So why root ?

Well, I found one reason to root. If the official ice cream sandwich update does not allow apps to be moved to the SD card, I may root and run a ROM that does.
