Default I took the plunge... A700 on the way!

After reading icebike's initial comments and then reading all of the comments over on XDA, plus all of the overly exhaustive research that takes me days to do, I just ordered the A700 from Amazon. With Prime shipping, it should be here on Tuesday. I ordered a couple of 32GB microSD cards as well.

I plan to put it through the wringer when it gets here, and I'll post my review here. It's my first tablet, not including my Nook Color with CM7 on the card, which is nice but not near what I'm looking for in a tab.

    Default Update

Quick update. The A700 just arrived. I plugged it in (it says to charge it 4 hours first, but I'm only charging it because it doesn't have much of a charge) and turned it on. I connected it to WiFi and ran the little set-up routine. Pretty simple. The screen is gorgeous. The colors are vibrant and really pop. The auto brightness setting is not going to cut it for me. It's pretty dark so I'll adjust it later.

The system as a whole seems to delay a bit when opening the individual settings, but I think this has more to do with some sort of transition thing going on rather than speed of the system. I'll probably load a different launcher eventually.

One thing I think is really cool, although I don't know if it will stay if I load a different launcher - the Ring. It's basically a centralized command center for things like loading apps. I briefly played with it, but it's nice.

I'll post a more thorough walk-through later if anyone is interested. I know it's a new tab so I'm guessing that's why there isn't a whole lot of discussion going on here. I may simulpost onto the A700 forum at XDA as well. I'm going to give it another 30 minutes of charging.
