Working on my Wife's Kindle Fire HD and, for a seasoned IT individual, getting a tad frustrated with the mail app!

One of the mail accounts (an IMAP account and not the default account) was having problems with authentication. I looked in vain for the option to review server names / port numbers etc., and amend if required, so I deleted the account with the intention of manually setting it up again. However, after deleting the account it won't let me set it up again as it states that the email address is already being used on another account. Needless to say, having deleted the account it doesn't show in the account list so this was a bit confusing! What surprised me is that when I open the mail app itself, the account is still visible, as are all the emails plus an message with a yellow background advising of authentication errors...

Can anyone help me with this? I have done a bit of googling but cant find anything that exactly matches my problem..
