Disabling soft keys

Hi - is there any way to disable the grey toolbars with soft keys on the bottom as well as top of the kindle?

We need to lock the device to be used only by one app.

I'm guessing that if you were to root and then install a different launcher you could have that capability. Rooting will be the easy part, so you probably want to research the most popular launchers to see if one meets your needs, and then you can look into the root process.
