problem with typing emails

When attempting to type an email (usually gmail) I am unable to type in the email field. I touch the field on the screen but no cursor appears and the keyboard doesn't pop up. I have no problem typing into the "to" field and the "subject" field. This also happens in other messaging areas. Thankfully this message typed ok.
What is going on?

To be honest, I don't know that I ever sent an email on the Fire... I have replied to emails and it worked. I will try tonight and see if I get the same symptom as you.

Just to be sure, are you using the email client that came with the Fire, or something else?

Just for another data point, I have sent emails using the KF email client and my yahoo mail account. I have had no problems.

I am using gmail, but I have also had the problem posting on message boards like this one.

Is your Kindle Fire rooted, or are you using the stock email program? I have never had an issue with the stock email program, so I'm not familiar with the issue you're describing.
