I am having problems rooting my KF 1st gen. i tried to use KFU first and it was working for a while. I have TWRP and FFF installed but ti-backup and Gingerbreak say i don't have root. I tried making a backup in TWRP and it didn't work. After it installed those it was doing something and i left it alone for about twenty minutes and it still wasn't doing anything, so thinking it might be done i rebooted it into system and now my computer and KFU won't reconize it so i can't root it. My new computer (running win8) might work if i could find the drivers. I need help with this because it's staring to tick me off. The more problems i have with it the more i wan't to get rid of the Amazon ecosystem. I even tried the root utility on kindlefireroot.com with no luck, and the only reason for that is because my win8 pc can't find the drivers, and when i google it all i get is stuff about rooting the kindle fire HD. I tried the drivers in the KFU package but they won't install. Any ideas? Thanks!
