Updating to Gingerbread on my Galaxy s 4G.

I am totally new to android phones. This is my first phone and ise of the web via cell phone. I am wanting to up grade to the current rev of Gengerbread but I am totally lost on how to do it

I have found some info but like I said being a newbie it is like greek to me.

Is there a upgrade to Ginger Bread for dummies out there that would give me a step by step idiot proof instructions on how to do it.

Download a program named KiesMini on your windows pc. Next plug your phone into the pd via USB cable. The phone screen will open a few choices. Pick the one that sys.....um...I think it sys USB mode. Open the kiesmini program on your pc. It will identify your phone model and OS. when the update button on kiesmini is enabled, click it. Do not disconnect your phone. It will reboot after a few minutes. Phone updated!

I just found out that the upgrade went live. Pretty good upgrade except that we lose airsync...which sucks.
