Apps with Google ads crash on 2.3.1

I recently bought a Nexus S. A number of apps (e.g. Zillow, AppBrain, Pandora) crash within the first minute of running. After some experimenting what appears to be happening is the app starts, then after a short while the Google ad box appears at the bottom of the screen with the first ad, then just as the box is changing to the second ad the app crashes.

This happens 100% of the time on my phone. None of these apps will run past the first Google ad.

Anyone else seeing this or have any suggestions how to fix it?

I'm currently running WiFI only, no cell plan, if that makes a difference.

i have the same problem when running any browser theres google ads and then it just sends me back to my home screen , my phone is not a nexus but a samsung captivate

Not seeing this - Nexus One Froyo 2.2.1.

Not in Pandora and certainly not in any browser.
You're seeing ads in AppBrain? Weird. Not me.

Even the Appbrain page for Appbrain shows adds, but I'm tellin ya, I don't see them on the Nexus One, and never have.

O/P here again to follow up. After a couple of weeks of frustration where many things worked well but some things always crashed, I returned my phone and got a new one. All the problems disappeared. Must have been some kind of h/w problem.

Love Best Buy's no hassle return policy in the first 30 days.
