Just something I wanna know.

So, I have had a Samsung Galaxy Ace for just a bit over two months. It came with Android 2.3.6, but I wanted to update to 4.0. Through official methods, without rooting my phone. Since I know the 4.0 version has been around for quite some time now, I thought it was weird that I couldn't update the OS for that version. So I contacted Samsung for my country, and I was told (I learned that the same version of the OS is developed separately for different platforms, by the way) that a 4.0 version for my phone was being developed. I was just wondering if there's anyone who know when this version mught be released? And just how dangerous is it to update? Will it slow my phone down too much? Does it use too much internal memory?
