Hi all.
I use several instant messaging apps. Do i need to make sure the apps are running for me to get messages or not?
Apps that I use: whatsapp, kakao, skype, yahoo messenger, line, wechat, viber.

I m not really understand how the push messages works, just want to make sure.
For example, if the app crash, will i miss messages sent to me until i re launch the app?

Thanks for any clarification.

Regards

You should be able to receive notifications if the application is not actually running. But if the app crashes or is disabled via App Management then it may not work.

So if i enable ANR dialog and not having a crash warning from apps, i should be safe to assume, all my messages will come through?
Or even when crash, will the app going to relaunch itself at least the service for it to receive messages?

Thanks

No matter what, if the app crashes, you will be notified by Android itself. Basically, no news is good news.
