Is there a version 4 for Google Play services?

google play services 3.0.27

My newly purchased Fido phone purchased this month (june-2014) has version 3.0.27 of google play services. when I go to the play store to try to update it their is no "google play service" in the app store. In the forum it appears there is a verson 4 that should be available. Anyone can confirm the version and if i should be able to view it in the play store?

I cannot review apps in the play store because of this.

I have version 4.4.52 on my M8. Have you tried resetting app preferences? That might clear the Play issue.

This phone should update the software automatically? What are you referring to reset app preferences?

Resetting app preferences is done in settings>apps>menu>reset app preferences. This sometimes helps Play issues. Are all of your Google apps up to date? Those can possibly force a play services update too.
