Ok where to start....a system update to Jelly Bean 4.2 rocked my device. It was never rooted or anything like that, but when the update initially came through it screwed my Google(Asus) N7. So just recently I came to the realization that if I just flashed the device with the newest image, it might bypass the problem I am having with the actual update. So after going through all the guides etc etc, I am getting stuck at the same point every single time when using the SDK . I can't unlock the damn boot loader. I have searched around and just found threads that just stopped, with no solution. I CAN NOT factory restore the device, or boot into recovery mode. Both of these end up with the android on his back, chest cavity open, with the red exclamation. (This is the same result when "she" tries to update). This is a 16GB Wifi only Nexus 7.
What do you guys suggest? Can I flash just the bootloader and maybe it will let me unlock it? I can't seem to find an .img of the bootloader, nor do any of the packages I download have "grouper" anywhere in the files. Any help would be just wonderful. If you need any more information, ill be trying to watch the thread for the next few hours. Thanks!
PS: I get the (remote: error every single time I try to unlock the bootloader.
