Asus has its fair share of smartphones and tablets, although you can more or less say that their coterie of Android-powered devices would definitely pale in comparison to what other manufacturers such as Samsung has delivered. Well, we do know that their MeMo Pad Smart ME301T, a 10-inch Android-powered tablet, will be on the receiving end of the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system update, which is good news considering how this is their most affordable 10-inch tablet for the masses.

With the Asus MeMo Pad, it comes with a 10.1-inch display at 1,280 x 800 pixel resolution, a 1.2GHz NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core processor, 1GB RAM, and 16GB of internal memory, retailing for $299 a pop, making it somewhat akin to a Nexus 7 albeit with a larger viewing real estate. The jump from Android 4.1 Jelly Bean to Android 4.2 Jelly Bean would not see that much a paradigm shift compared to Ice Cream Sandwich to Jelly Bean, although do expect to see its fair share of improvements such as support for multiple user accounts on the same tablet, better text prediction, and of course, the gesture-based typing virtual keyboard.
