Just discovered this article through Twitter and thought I'd share it here. I couldn't disagree more with the author as a more then happy Nexus 4 owner but would be interested in other opinions. Why Android Hates You
That's weird, my Android loves me. I was considering proposing human cyborg relationship legislation to put limits on the depths of it's proposed love.
He has some really good points. The backup feature should have been there a long time ago and the menus are getting more and more confusing. You never know if you can tap on something to get a new menu, hold on it to get more options or only be able to turn it on and off. The notification shade is a gigantic mess now.
However, one thing he totally ignores is that implementing any sort of UI feature runs the risk of a gigantic lawsuit, even if it's something that a UI designer thinks should be obvious.
Having owned a nexus 4 for about 2 weeks now and loving it, I have to say that the author is right. A lot of what he mentions are things that google needs to address. Like he says, they're not unholy sins, but they're little things that, if given some thought, would make the experience as a whole a lot better.
