I am in Korea currently and the phone that I had bought decided it wasn't going to work so I trimmed my sim card and put into my Droid 4. It will read the sim card just fine with the exception of seeing it as an unknown sim card. I am running out of ideas to try and get this phone to work and I have seen posts of it working here in Korea with local sims but I cant seem to get it to work. If anyone could tell me what I'm doing wrong that would be great. I need my phone for work and I really don't feel like paying for a new phone from the local carrier.

Where did you get your Droid 4? If from your US carrier it is probably locked. It also may not support the GSM bands in Korea.

There is limited GSM service in Korea (3G on the 2100 band) & your phone uses CDMA technology. The SIM slot on your phone is for LTE high speed data. It does not support voice. Korea has some CDMA carriers using CDMA2000 technology which is not compatible with your phone.
