I'm new to android and though my tablet is not my first android gadget, I'm not really familiar tinkering with android at all.
By the way, My Lenovo's on Android Jellybean 4.1.2.

Anyway to set the situation straight, I tried to see if I can reformat an old 4GB Micro SD card that was sort of corrupted using my new Lenovo tablet. I was able access Recovery mode (pressing and holding the Power Button and Volume Up button at the same time) and when I got there I wasn't pressing the power button at all. But when I was choosing among the options using the volume up and down button, when I pressed the volume up button I think it went to "Reboot System Now". After that my tablet is stuck on a message saying "Now send the package you want to apply to the device with "adb sideload <filename>...".
It goes away when I press the power button but nothing happens. If I press the power button again, the message goes back. I've tried holding the power button and volume up button again but nothing happens. I don't know what to do anymore and I'm sort of in a panic right now. Any help or tips or advice would be very much appreciated. Thank you!

    Welcome to the forums.
Just pressing and holding power should simulate a battery pull. Try that.

HEY GUYS if that message pops up. open the slot where you stick the sd card in. There should be a tiny hole located there, get a pin needle and reset. (: My Father had the same problem and I found out how to fix it! Hope this helps. #Gamestop Employee

I tried this countless times, and each time my tablet would still display "Android system recovery <3e>"
Help? What am I supposed to do? none of these suggestions worked.

thank you so much, I had same problem now it is fix and my tab is working.
Solution: Insert the needle in a tiny hole, but its location is on left side near memory card slot. Some people may try in a hole at bottom (actually this hole is for mic).

    Thanks

That's the only solution that worked for me after a while searching for a solution because I can't take off the battery of my phone.

To solve it you can do this:

Create an empty zip file (and name it, for example "sideload").
Install adb drivers (adb setup 1.4.2 for example) or MTKdroid tools.
Open CMD (or open MTK droid tools and click on "adb terminal")
Type "adb sideload + the directory name of the empty zip file ("sideload.zip" for example)
    Like this: adb sideload C:/Users/User/Desktop/sideload.zip

If you do all the steps well, and type that in de command prompt it will go back to recovery and be able to reboot the phone.

    Greetings.
