S3 magnetic sensor

Can anyone tell me how to activate and callibrate magnetic sensor on samsung galaxy s3 I9300...
the magnetic sensor is working finely on my friend's s4 with the magnetic cover but when i use that magnetic cover nothing happens..... the screen doesn't goes off and on with it..... i can't understand bcz both phones show magnetic sensor in the sensors test...
plx tell me what to do!

On my LG there is a setting to turn on Quick Cover. Without it enabled mine doesn't react to smart covers either.

Can u tell me where i can find that setting???

For the LG it is under accessories in the settings menu. Can't tell you where sammy likes to put it. Because I haven't had a sammy since my Galaxy Nexus and it didn't have the sensor.
