Default How Do I Know That My Nexus Has Been Rooted?

I am running the latest Jelly Bean on my new Google Nexus 7. I decided to root it using the Google Nexus 7 Root Kit. The issue is that I do not see any difference at all?

Where can I look to be sure that my device is actually rooted?

You won't see any difference just by rooting, other than you no longer can update OTA. If you want to check to see if it worked, download an app that requires a rooted device and see if the app works.

Root is special user account in unix(-like) systems that has access to whole system, so it allows to do things that normaly are not allowed mostly because security reasons, for example i let app capture screen anytime anywhere so you can record video doing something on phone. But dont be scared, if you root it right root it self should be still protected.

So there is no "I Am Rooted" screen? OK, where do I go to download an app that requires rooted access to work? What app do you suggest?

There is an app in the market called root checker. That is all it does, checks for root access

I found this program too and it said I am not rooted. I don't understand. I told the Google Nexus 7 Toolkit to root the device. It did all kinds of crap and rebooted it, but nothing.
