New Gmail update notification window
I am on 4.1.1 on a VZW Razr M. I installed the recent Gmail update and am supposed to have in the notification pull down window the option of archiving or replying to an email from there for a new received email but I don't see it. Looks like the same notification status as in the old version. Is there some setting I have to activate or anything I need to do?
Thanks in advance

Is the notification expanded where you can read part of the body of the email?

You have to manually expand the notification in order to see the action buttons. Notifications only expand on their own if they are at the top of the list (or they're the only notification).

How do you manually expand the notification? I've tried long pressing it, tapping it and everything else. What's the secret?

You'll need to expand the GMail notification itself from the Notification bar.
That'll now show you 2 new buttons.
Other than "reply", it depends what you assign the swipe to in the GMail settings - if you set swipe to delete you'll see "delete" / if you set swipe to archive you'll see "archive".
Keep in mind:
-buttons only appear if there's a single Email in the Notification
-expanding is done in different ways depending on the device ranging from a 1-finger downward swipe (Nexus), 2-finger downward swipe (GS3) or 2-finger pinch (HTC)...I have no Motorola device so not sure but should be one of those

Re: New Gmail update notification window
For the record, the enhanced notifications with action buttons were added in 4.0, with the two-finger swipe expanding them. It was in 4.1.2 that it was changed to a one-finger swipe for easier use.
