    Welcome to the forums.
Depending on the permissions, it should be pretty safe. Google filters through the apps to make sure they are legitimate.

I'm assuming this is the app:

If so, here is their privacy policy:

They've got between 1 and 5 million downloads, 30k reviews and an average of 4 stars, so that tells me not a lot of people feel scammed by them, but the privacy policy is the first place where I would look for the details of what info they have access to and how they use it.

The only stupid question is the one you don't ask. How about saying hi to the rest of the community? Introductions - Android Forums at AndroidCentral.com

That's absolutely not a stupid question, it's smart to be skeptical of things that might have access to your credit card info. Generally, if you are downloading reputable apps, you're going to be fine. It's important to consider things like download count, the developer, review count and ratings and read some of the most recent reviews and if you're unsure about something, find out first. Android does have several layers of protection, but one of the most important ones is when it asks you for app permissions. That being said, several Android Central staff and many members have used that particular app and I've never heard anything weird about it, but you being cautious is not a bad thing at all.
