Well I just came across this and it's quite irritating. I was using my SD card to store my pics along with the app QuickPic to manage said pics. Well today I tried to delete a punch of pics I no longer need and was told that due to a limitation in KitKat that 3rd Party apps cannot have "write" access to the SD card.

The device is a non rooted HTC-One M8. Anyway around this? Hack maybe?

I've since moved my pics back to internal storage but now I have two folders of pic and still no way to delete the pics. I guess worse case I can use the OEM app but there is no way, that I can find to do a mass select.

Thanks

If I were you, I'd just plug it into a computer and delete them that way.

Well I finally did what you said and when plugged into my Mac there is no option to delete the files.

Does the device put some kind of read only access on the disk?
