Unable to hear other person during a call

So I very recently upgraded my moto g working on 4.4.2 to the latest kitkat version 4.4.4. It works fine except during a call, I'm unable to hear the other person during my turn of talking. What I mean by that is whenever I'm talking during a call, its like the other person kinda puts me on mute for that duration and everything works fine when I stop talking. I never experienced this trouble on 4.4.2. Anybody knows whats happening? Does anyone else experience this? What to do? Its really frustrating. I don't want to factory reset as I can't risk to loose all my apps and data.
Any help would be appreciated.
