Why is my Hotmail can't PUSH Sync anymore on Samsung S5 default email App ?

Hi Guys,

I moved on from S3 to S5 recently. Back in S3, I used to use the default email app for my Hotmail account. Had no issue with it as I could set the sync to PUSH. However, I noticed on my S5, that option has disappeared, leaving me with 5 Mins (the best and quickest one to sync / retrieve email ).

However, this doesnt happen to the default Gmail app, only to the default email for non Gmail accounts.

Alternative, I used Outlook.com email app to support this PUSH functionality, but I dont like the GUI to be honest, prefer the default email app better.


Is this what it is, or is an anomaly ? Any suggestions peeps. Thanks

If you set up you Hotmail in the phone as a "Microsoft exchange active sync" account it will work great with push.

Me and my whole family have been using the default email app for this for many years with all our Android devices (S2,S3,LGG2,S4,S4mini,S5,One8). Google it for settings.
