Why doesn't the rear camera on Micromax A190 work?

Hi,

I've been trying to get my dad's rear camera on his phone working for a while now but can't seem to figure it out.

He's got a Micromax Canvas A190 which is running Andriod 4.4.2. Other details:
- Kernel Ver: 3.4.67

Initially it used to say, "Camera not found". Somehow default camera when you go to the "Camera" app has switched to the front (selfie) camera that works fine but there is no longer an option to switch to the front camera.

Please help.

Try booting into Safe Mode, which temporarily disables all 3rd party apps. On most Android devices, while powered on, press and hold Power until the Power Off menu appears. Press and hold the Power Off selection until the Safe Mode prompt appears. Tap OK.


If the problem disappears in Safe Mode, then something you installed is causing the problem. You may have to uninstall apps one by one until the problem disappears. If the problem persists in Safe Mode, then it's more likely to be a hardware or firmware problem.
