What the hell were they thinking with those navigation buttons? All that effort to make things look more neutral and premium, don't the navigation buttons just look childish? It's like they took a page out of PlayStation's book.

It's genuinely going to annoy me to look at it. Do you think they'll include an option to theme the nav bar like the current one?

I got the impression no one shared my opinion because no one else has mentioned it.

Oh, there was a long thread about it a month or so ago. Others hate it too.

I don't like changing things for the sake of changing them, which I feel this is. I see benefit of changing the buttons. I guess I will have to get used to it.

I absolutely hate the new buttons. They are good looking and make everything look nicer, but its 100% form over function. 50% of the time I forget what circle means... I makes the overall experience clumsy. They used to have the option to switch it back to what they had in kitkat at 5.0 but they removed it in 5.0.1
almost all the UI "improvements" lollipop has just creates more clicks to get to the same place if you have more than 2 thing open...
In my book lollipop is the windows visa for android

I think the old icons were much more clear to a new user, but once you know what they do I don't think it matters much: there are only three and they're always in the same order, so it's not like you forget which is which. In short, I think they'd have been better off keeping the old icons, but it's not a big deal.
