How to get the KitKat Gallery back on lollipop

I have a Nexus 10 and I used to love the old Gallery.
I tried installing it again from Google Play store and got the 505 error. I was browsing for a different Gallery and saw Gallery KK-gallery ICS. So I downloaded it just in case it worked.,and it did! No 505 error. So now I have my beloved Gallery back.

I don't know how to link to that download. I'd be happy to if I knew how. If you open Play Store, search for gallery kk it will bring it up. Its called Gallery KK Gallery ICS
Its a square red graphic with a black frame

That's not the old gallery, it's a third party app. As others on these forums suggest, try Quickpic, it works very well.

Quickpic is the best

Thanks, I've search a way to have the old Gallery and ended up on this thread but Quickpic is like the old Gallery but better, it's exactly what I needed.

...and if you try to edit any pic with the "Gallery" app on Lollipop, the app will crash. I know. I have the app installed on my N6 with 5.0.1. I wish it would work. I hate Photos.
