Android 5.0 MS Exchange issue

I posted this question in the Samsung S5 forum and got no response.

When an Exchange account is set to "push" in Lollipop, there is a never ending handshake between the phone and server causing severe battery drain. This was never the case since I started using Exchange and Android with my Galaxy Nexus and 4.0 ICS, and it worked flawlessly in 4.4.x with my new S5.

If anyone has any insight into this I would really appreciate it.

Have you tried other email apps that use Exchange?

No. This phone is all stock Android with the exception of Nova Launcher. This worked fine on all previous versions and I have always used the stock Android email app.
