New convert to Android here using Galaxy Note 4. Been with Windows Phone since its launch. I like the proactive nature of Google Now a lot. Trying to feed the card system as much info as possible. I read in the past in order for Gmail to populate Now Cards from email data and you were using an external mail service (I use outlook.com) you had to forward your email from the external mail account to a dummy Gmail account you set up for this purpose. I'd rather not do that.
However, I also see that the new Gmail app in android permits the native use of external email services like outlook.com. Will using this app allow Google Now to "see" my incoming email and populate Now Cards?
