Headphones recommended apps settings not sticking

Hi - I am on Galaxy S5 Active but I think this has more to do with the OS than the phone.

I am setting my headphones apps up by navigating to Settings > Notification Panel > Recommended Apps. I pick Plex and Google Play and a few others. The setting sticks for a short time. Then at some point (reboot, a day passes, something) the setting reverts to having the apps labeled "Music" "Video" and "Youtube" instead of what I set up.

Any clue as to why it is reverting, and how I can make it stick?

I would also like to know why the recommended apps list resets. All I want is to easily access Spotify and it keeps getting dropped from list.
