Random huge lag when unlocking the screen

I have a Samsung Galaxy 6 edge+ running on Lollipop 5.1

It is the snappiest phone I have ever used. BUT, sometimes like if I want to unlock the screen, nothing happens, as if the phone was off, I would have to press the home key a few times, swipe the screen a few times, nothing happens, then after like 10 seconds or so, everything would come back to normal, as if the phone was on sleep mode and it was waking up.

I did a factory reset but that didn't help.

What do you think is going on?

PS: Power save mode is NOT on

I just wiped my cache partition and testing how it goes....

any other suggestions are welcome though as I didn't think wiping the cache partition on a 2 day old phone is needed

it's been 12 hours now since wiping my cache partition and the issue hasn't recurred yet. will keep monitoring.

After 48 hours, I can confirm that the lag issue has disappeared! Thanks all for no help!
