I am on giffgaff on O2 network was all working fine then went abroad back and it wouldn't connect. Factory reset. Put in correct apn but messages and calls won't work. First time I followed a tutorial which removed the other apn from the list and fixed the problem but I can't find the instructions now. My phone doesn't have obviously delete option just restore.

To delete your APN settings, go to:
-Settings
-Connections
-More networks
-Mobile networks
-Access point names (APN)

You should then see your current APN profile. Tap on on it to highlight it, then tap the menu button (bottom left of phone beside home button). You should then see an option to delete the APN.

I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 so your settings might slightly differ, but not by not much if at all.

As for finding the APN settings for O2, check out the following link.
