Nexus 5 won't reconnect to home WiFi Network until screen turned on

I have the Nexus 5 that was updated to Marshmallow. What I have noticed is that every time I leave the range of my home WiFi Network that when I return the phone will not reconnect to the network until I press the power button to activate the screen. Once the screen appears and I enter my PIN the phone quickly connects to the network.

Anyone else having this problem or know what the deal is?

Yes, that is set to Always but good suggestion in the event it wasn't.

I had the same problem. For me it was fixed by changing my router's DD-WRT wireless settings.

I changed Wireless Network Mode = Mixed and Wireless Channel Width= Full (20MHz)

Did you solve this Problem?
I Had the same (and some other anoying bugs after upgrading to marshmellow), even factory reset was useless.
Yesterday I re-installed Lollipop, now it works again.
