Official Dropbox app is in the Market.

If you don't use Dropbox it's probably not of interest LOL.

Topic should have been in apps forum but I goofed ;-)

I'm new to Android - that's why I've never heard of it.

Just found the article, though: http://www.androidcentral.com/androi...p-dropbox-beta

    Thanks.

This might seem a LITTLE self-serving, but I'm also doing this for all of you.

If I "refer" you, both of us get an extra 250MB of space. So if you plan on signing up and you want 2.25gigs instead of 2gigs, click here:

Again, you don't have to, and I wouldn't post it if it only helped me... but this will actually help everyone who uses it... and I would suggest being referred to the site over just signing up.

Edit: for those who aren't sure what Dropbox is, let me explain it - because this is the #1 reason I switched from a blackberry to the incredible. Dropbox enables you to have a single "folder" on your desktop, for instance, that synch's with the dropbox website. Your phone can then access the website and retrieve all of the files. If you update a file on your phone, it pushes the update online, and your computer will update accordingly with the newer file. If you update a file on your computer, the dropbox website updates with the newer file... and you can then retrieve that file with your Android smartphone. It also has a "shared" folder that you can share with friends. Def worth a try!

    Cheers

If anyone else is looking to join, here is another referral.

Dropbox is a very slick cloud app. I use SkyDrive for big backups due to the free space MS offers, but I use Dropbox for everything else. It is very handy to move files around and very easy to use for posting to the web (easy url creation).

This and the Mint App are two very big reasons I switched to Android.

Its nice, but I wish you could choose where you wanted it to sync the files. It automatically puts them on the SD card.

Dropbox is a web service to simplify copying files between PCs and smartphones. On your PC, just drag-and-drop files into your dropbox folder. You can then access them from any other web-connected PC or smartphone at any time.

You get 2GB of storage space for free or 2.25GB if you use a referral link like mine:

The Android intro tutorial lists one interesting feature:

    Launch your phone’s built-in camera
    while running Dropbox and your
photos and videos will upload to your
Dropbox instantly. When you use this
    feature together with Dropbox shared
folders, these files are synced to your
    friends’ and family’s computers
    instantly!

I expect this is going to be many people's most popular use of Dropbox.
