go into stock sms program, and select menu and go into the settings

It is its own SMS app, that you would use to replace the native one on the EVO. What's great about it is that you can customize the font, background, color of the text, etc., and make it look like the iphone how it has bubbles for each conversation or pretty much anything you like. It's a lot better than the stock app.

ChompSMS is not a bad app to have but it is kinda buggy to me. I thought I was the only one but seems like ChompSMS ends up deleting all your messages from time to time. I thought I was the only one but quite a few of my friends have the same issues

It has happened to me twice already and have resorted to using the stock app.

i hate the bubble look. i understand that everyone has their own preference, but it looks childish to me. always hated that aspect of the iphone...

There seems to be an issue with sending MMS messages via Handcent. Even with the Pic size compression setting to 200KB, the MMS still takes FOREVER to send via SPRINT. I have noticed that the native HTC Messages App on the EVO compresses pics to a much smaller size and they are sent almost immediately. Anyone else experiencing this also with MMS on Handcent (the sending wheel keeps on spinning and spinning)??
