Best SMS app?
So whats your favorite SMS app? I have tried handscent and chomp but I like the pictures when I message people.

I like stock but am running the free version of chomp because handcent at the time wasn't in the market.

I like Chomp but have one slight qualm with it- when I send a text a lot of the time the message will send and the text will stay in the input box, so the next time I want to send a message I have to delete it manually. Know how to fix this?
My chomp looks great though
Customized the screen to have the green smiling android robot in the background with bright pink and purple text bubbles.
I also run sms popup in conjunction with it which I feel is a must have. - 06-14-2010, 01:21 PM

Hmm I might try Handcent and ChompSMS again then. They seem to be the two most popular. Where are some good backgrounds?

how do you set a background in chomp?
I don't see the option anywhere. - 06-14-2010, 01:48 PM #11Thanked by:

I used both Handcent and Chomp in the past but moved on to the stock messaging app and never looked back.

I'm currently using Handcent...it has some nice features in it. Then again, I'd probably use the stock app if it had a way of blocking people

Stock, tried handcent and didn't really care for it

I'm liking chompSMS a lot. I like that it has the ability to lock both chompSMS and the default Messages app with a swipe pattern. The popup message box is pretty neat as well.

Do either of these apps (chomp or handcent) use your contacts to send a sms? I am having trouble with the stock application and the app that verizon suggested doesn't use my contacts and it is a pain to work with since I can only remember a few of the contacts mobile numbers.
