Now You're Just a GMaps that I used to know...
So I'm assuming due to the fact that Google Maps is no longer on the iphone, Google decided to revamp their maps icon for Android. I'd be damned if I don't say that's a damn good looking icon. Just be looking at it you can tell that that's a Google product and it's Maps.
This came along on a minor update last night to Maps. What do you guys think of this new design for the icon? - 08-16-2012, 02:59 PM #2

It looks great! Why don't I have it?

edit: nevermind. I had to open the app. Delete the shortcut from my home screen folder and then add it back. - 08-16-2012, 03:03 PM #3
That new icon might also be a sign that they're readying a stand alone App for iDevices & putting the "G" will definitely help it to stand out next to Apple Maps' logo.

Google Maps is still on the iPhone. It's just not considered a "core" app anymore.
