Default Rating Apps using Google +

I have not rated an app in a while since I am not a Google+ member. If I become a member will I get baraged with email and when I rate an app will my real name be shown or will it use a user name? I am not really interested in the "benefits" of being a Google+ member.

Please give me your thoughts on the subject

I would up joining and I have not been hit with a load of emails and never sign on. I also changed my last name so my ratings are still anonymous.
