Friendstream and birthdays

Like many people I have a lot of "friends" on FB that aren't exactly people I need to know everything about. So, I get signed up and logged in through Friendstream and I get 400 birthdays loaded into my calendar. It is cumbersome and annoying. Is there a way to uses Friendstream without it loading everybody's birthday to my calendar? Thanks a bunch.

Which calendar app are you using?

You should be able to select which calendars are displayed (I'm on an Evo, and in the native app, I can go to Menu -> More -> Calendars and uncheck Facebook).

On Jorte (my current calendar of choice), I go to Menu -> Settings -> Choose Calendars and I can turn it off there.

of course, that disables the Facebook Calendar completely: I don't use it for anything but Birthdays, but I also don't "collect" friends so my friends list is only like 60 people: only real friends/family...not acquaintances or high-school people I haven't seen for 20 years. I realize I'm in the minority on that.
