Default Google Maps just got a market update (9/29)

Its not clear what is in it. Version 4.5.1.

It talks about Weather on maps live wallpaper when you open it.

(someone uses maps live wall paper? Who knew?!)

Looks like a couple more Google Labs options are now available.

I didn't see any new labs. But I did notice the navigation looks a little different and has a alternate route button that I did not notice before. Which is something I've been waiting for. thumbs up google!

Other stuff that I wish they would add is a truck route button that could be added on possibly
and the recent address drop box wouldnt auto search when i tap on it so I can edit the address

i briefly saw the "Weather" reference in the release notes. i was looking for a "Weather" layer or something but could not find. what exactly is it???

i think a weather layer would be cool.

    Configure the maps screen saver.
There are options to show weather.

So I got clouds drifting over the map when it was used as a screen saver. (A glance out the window showed a clear blue sky). Thing is, maps is an ugly screen saver anyway, so its a little like putting lipstick on a pig.

sounds like they stole the live weather effects from the big HTC Clock/Weather widget?
