aTAKEphONE released
Hi all,
Proud to announce the release of aTAKEphONE 1.10 on the Android Market.
TAKEphONE will change the way you use your phone to
make calls - no more having to open the G1 keyboard to search
for contacts, or fiddling with the tiny on-screen keyboard
buttons, fast & easy access to all your favorites, call-log
and even a dial-by-photo feature !
You can get a full featured 30 days free trial at my website, or purchase at the market.
Thanks. - 09-22-2009, 06:51 PM #2
I loved TAKEphONE back in the Palm days & am looking forward to trying it out.

Shimon,
Does the T9 keyboard change from portrait to landscape when The device is rotated?
I have a VZW Motorola Droid running 2.1. I use a proclip holder in my car and have it set up landscape and would love T9 in that direction.
You do that and I buy immediately. - 04-19-2010, 12:47 AM #5
Does this work with eris? And I cant find it in the market anyway..

I am going to test drive this. Hopefully it is as good as it was on the PALM platform.
Now if Shimon will make an email program as good as CHATTER was I will be set! - 04-19-2010, 04:21 PM #7

After having a Treo since day one, I was very used to TF. Having Android for a few months now I cannot stand not having buttons and TF is like an oasis of user sanity. My Nexus runs TF great, but my G1 and MyTouch not so great.
1) I have a G1 and its very slow to respond. Not sure much can be done about that. Push any button there is a lag.
2) TF does not clear the missed call alert. I still have to go to the stock dialer and view the call log for it to clear.
3) TF force closes on my G1 several times a day, what can I look for to try and explain it.
Thanks,

Hi,
Thanks for reporting this.
Yes - the G1 is slow with TAKEphONE. I am still investigating ways to make it work faster. Doing the T9 search is hard on it.
Regarding the missed calls indicator - this is a real issue - the Google interface does not allow us programmers access to turn that icon off. Only workaround for now is I added a menu option within aTAKEphONE to launch the call-log directly. Then you can press BACK to return to aTAKEphONE.
A bummer, I know...
About the force-closes - are this force-closes, or "do you want to wait or force-close" ?
Thanks - 04-27-2010, 11:28 AM #14

Hi,
It will not show there, since you did not get it from the Market.
Go to your HOME screen, and select Settings from the menu.
Select "Applications", then "Manage applications".
Locate and select aTAKEphONE.
Click "Uninstall"
Thanks for trying out aTAKEphONE.
I am always open for user feedback. - 05-18-2010, 06:50 AM

I have been using this for a few weeks now and it works very well! It is much better than the standard phone app and I like better than the other "dialer" in the market.
This is an app worth paying for and it will only get better with time. The Developer is great about continuing to update the product and provides top notch tech support! - 05-19-2010, 10:02 AM #18
I downloaded it, and it seemed to work well except for the fact that the entire display is very small, the dialer especially. I was hoping to have a full screen option where the buttons are bigger and the pictures icons are easier to see and click on. Perhaps I'm missing something in the settings, which is entirely possible?
or perhaps it's an issue with just my particular phone? Im using the Droid, 2.1, and I downloaded the trial option.

I went to the website you linked in your post on page 1 to download the "try before you buy" version, directly to the phone.
I will try to find the "large thumbs" setting that zorro1 mentioned and get back to you.
Edit, this is the version I downloaded to my droid, tkphand121_001_shsh.apk - 05-19-2010, 12:46 PM #22

Ok since coming over from MOTO Droid to HTC inc I don't like HTC dialer. I do how ever prefer the MOTO Droid dialer. The biggest feature I'm looking for is one that automatically adds numbers or contacts to a favorite tab. I see yours has this will it fill up with the numbers I dial? Thanks

make your contacts that you call a favorite in you gmail account then import them...very easy.

I tried this again last night and still the same thing. I don't know if it's just my phone, but the dialer is so small it's not practical for me. I don't have huge hands but I do have big hands, and that coupled with me not always wearing my glasses if I'm not at work is enough to not keep this one until a solution can be found either due to my phone or the app itself.
Dialer one still works great for me.
