I think to control any other device, you'd need third party hardware.. unless you have networkable lights/tv/etc.. or you computer controls them.

RemoteDroid app is capable, letting you take advantage of the G1's keypad to use as remote but I think Gmote is far better and cooler to use as media remote.

i amusing remotedroid right now and i love it. great for relaxing back on the couch and still having a big screen. plus since i can run my laptop as a media center, i can control vlc from the othe side of the room.

just downloaded both GMote and VLC Remote Beta and they are both AWESOME. haha.

VLC Remote is the ONLY app i've ever paid for and it rocks!! easily a must have if you run movies / tv off your PC to your big screen TV.

just curious if there is a program like GMOTE that allows you to see your computer screen on your mobile while u move ur cursor around?
GMOTE lets u move the cursor but u can't see where your moving it on your mobile.
