Default Google Earth (and where to find it)!

For people who cannot find Google Earth, try the following:

    1. Go to the Android Market on your Droid.
    2. On the main Market page, select Apps.
    3. Scroll down an select All Applications.

It should be one of the first Applications. For some reason, searching for the App does not bring it up, yeah it's definitely weird.

I searched and it came up just fine. Although just FYI, when you install it, it extracts to around 20Mbs ... I quickly uninstalled.

Or go to your downloads tab. click on a google made app, click on "more apps by" and google earth will be there.

Sorry guys, but its not that simple. For me, Earth is not showing up under All Applications, Google applications, or a general search. A lot of other people have this same problem.

Details would be helpful, such as when did you all update your Droids, was it OTA or manual, and is your Firmware version 2.1 or 2.1-update1?

none of the above are working for me, I can't find it anywhere

Not there for me either. Was briefly available after upgrading to 2.1, then dissappeared. I updated by downloading the installer to my phone.

The people that can't find it are running 2.0.1 still I bet.

No, I got the update notice this morning and upgraded to 2.1 update 1. I have tried every method mentioned in this thread and Google earth is simply not in the list. There are other features that I read about that were supposed to appear with the update (or so I thought) that haven't materialized, like additional home screens.

Google earth isn't there for me either. I'm on 2.1update1. Got all the other features I was expecting (we weren't supposed to get extra home screens).

It's definitely being hidden from view for Droids. Very interesting......

I was having this problem, funny thing was I was able to see it in the market before installing the Helix launcher then after installing it I couldnt find it. I uninstalled and still couldnt find it. I did a factory restore and now I can find it again. I have had no problems with the 2.1 update but I have been having problems with the launcher and yes it's the correct one not helix2. So I'm back to 3 screen and a 20 meg hog of an app. lol

Just got the 2.1 upgrade this morning...no Google Earth. Tried going to Google's website, had it send my phone a text with the download link, and the link gave me an error message and wouldn't connect.

I did the update manually as soon as it was available, and everything is working just fine. No Google Earth in the market, no matter what method I use to find it. All the other Google apps show up. Not a big deal, since I probably wouldn't install it anyway, but it is strange that some of us see it and others don't.

Umm...thats interesting. I installed Helix Launhcer shortly after getting 2.1 and I cannot find Google Earth. My Droids homescreen also lags a bit now. Might uninstall Helix.

I can't find it either using any of the above mentioned methods. I got my update to 2.1 update 1 via OTA yesterday early morning. I wonder if they'll try to make it smaller for the Droid.
    Still rockin' the OG Droid

I already had the 2.0 hacked version of Google Earth installed when I updated to 2.1. That 2.0 version continues to work on my phone. I'm wondering if there's any reason to search for and install the 2.1 Google Earth?
