You could also get a DropBox account on your phone and computer. Then you can put any file in there and it is accessible on both.

Another choice is an app like WebSharing File/Media or PAW Server it turns your phone into a webserver. You can use your browser to access your phone (or tablet). It's easy to upload and download files.

If you are local to the wifi network, ES File Explorer has LAN access. I use this to transfer videos and music between my SGS and home network.

For documents, I mostly use Dropbox, since it will sync updated files between PC, tablet, and phone.
