Going to be headed to NYC for a Yankees game this weekend, anyone have any app suggestions for general getting around-ness or finding cool stuff?

Well, foursquare is good if you are looking for spots. I am from the area. Another app you will need if you are traveling is a subway app.

Here is the one I use: NYC Bus and Subway Maps

That takes care of the MTA.

New York City Guide

This one shows you all the restaurants and other things you may want to see in the city.

And if you want to read any of our newspapers all on one app, try NYC Newspapers:

Hope that helps, my friend. Enjoy the game. :)

Use the "transit" layer in Google Maps to find subway stops. Uptown is always North, Downtown is always South, no matter where you are. Both the D and the 4 drop you a block from Yankee Stadium. There is a ton to see and do in NYC, depending on your tastes and interests. Have fun, and try not to spend too much time in Times Square or Rock Center. Get out and see the real NYC - the one that locals know.

Like Brooklyn, the Bronx Zoo and the museums? (There's not enough time to even scratch the surface of the "real" NYC in a month.) But have a great time.
