A few GoSMS questions

I am coming from Chomp and can't figure out a few things.

How do you get the keyboard to pop up automatically when entering a conversation?

How do you get the pop up to come up over a lock screen? Not unlock it, but just come up over then go away when dismissed, leaving the lock screen.

Why won't my text to speech program, Ivona, work with this program?

Ok, I'll answer my own questions for the archive. The keyboard issue was just one level deeper in the settings than I expected. The pop up issue can only be resolved by getting something like widget locker. And the voice output issue is known and can't be fixed as far as I can see.
