Gmail App truncates / clips some Gmail messages. Any fix?

a friend of mine just forwarded me his Expedia email flight info from his iPhone. on my PC i can go to my Gmail account web version and see the email and it allows me to expand the "Message Clipped" message and see the whole email forwarded to me. however - when i try to view the entire email on my G-Nex Gmail app - i get the "Message Clipped" message at the bottom with three dots. i click on the "Message Clipped" and the three dots and it still does not allow me to view the whole email. the email was not huge - just simply an email from Expedia giving him flight info that he forwarded to me. does anyone else have the same problem? anyone know of a fix? or am i doing something wrong?

i know that i could possibly use the web version of Gmail on my G-Nex browser or use the "Mail" app to see the whole email but that seems like a dumb kludge. there has to be an easier way.
