Google Drive is "driving" me crazy

I use dropbox because I can store my KeePass password data file there, make changes on either my PC, tablet, and phone and it will save no problem. If I try to store it in Google Drive and I open up the Keepass file on my phone and make some changes, I get a "permission denied" error when I click "save". I've tried moving it around to different folders in Google Drive, "starring" the file, using it in offline and online mode, nothing works. Is there any way around this, or is Drive simply incapable of allowing you to modify and save files that are not Google Docs?
