timer?

I'm using timer that "beep" every minute to help me count steps while walking
I found app but it have 2 problems:

1- it's from 2011 no site or maitanance
2- every beep, it wakes up the screen and waste energy

any recommendations for another timer with loops (beep every pre- set interval)?

What's the issue with a simple pedometer app? Why does it have to beep?

it's a matter of taste
I find it (personally) more efficient to count steps in time interval
and not look at a pedometer

BTW, apps like runkeeper gives audio data but too much data for me. I want only beep

Ironically I was thinking of making an app that could solve this problem. A repeating timer. Never panned out I keep getting distracted.
