All Standard/Stock Android Calculator is FLAWED

Ok, this is not a deal breaker, but I've noticed that ALL the standard Calculator app that comes on Android devices are flawed.

On MOST calculators, when you press the EQUAL (=) button it usually displays the result and terminates the current operation and you're ready to start another calculation. The previous result clears when you start to enter the new operation.

The Android Calculator DOES NOT clear the screen to perform the next calculation. The results from your previous calculation remains on screen while you enter the next operation. The user must manually press the CLEAR (C) button in order to perform the next calculation.

If you're not paying attention, your calculations will be in ERROR.

For example, add the following 3 pair sequence (on a normal calculator)
2+2=4
3+3=6
4+4=8

Now do the same sequence on your Android device (don't press CLEAR) and you get:
2+2=43+3=464+4=468

To correct the problem on Android, you have to press CLEAR after each EQUAL operation, otherwise your answer will be off by a mile.

You don't have to press CLEAR on a normal calculator.

Google has to fix this on the next Android release.

Not a biggie, but damn annoying.

I've noticed this on my Epic 4G and my wife's HTC Hero.
I ASSUME all Android devices have the same problem.

For now, just remember to press CLEAR after each EQUAL operation.

Did your test on my standard Evo calculator and its worked perfectly 2+2=4 3+3=6 4+4=8 without clearing...it must be and issue with the Android devices that your using.

I'm sure I'm not the only one that said, "Really? Let me check mine."

And I did.

Works flawlessly on Droid X running 2.2. Never noticed any problem when running stock 2.1

Works as expected on my Droid Incredible. It did have the total from the last time I used calculator when I started it, several reboots ago, which was a bit surprising. Did have to press clear to get rid of it before starting this test.

I've noticed something on my Inc, when I subtract numbers using a decimal, i get an infinite answer...like this.

4013.7-4012.4= 1.2999999999999999999

It happens almost every time, not every time but almost.

Same on my Nexus with CM6. hmm, that's odd.

Yeah, not seeing it on my orig Droid 2.2 stock. There are things about it which make me crazy, but that isn't it. That it doesn't have even the functions of a free calculator these days, nor does it show the total as you go without hitting enter...but hey, it's not intended to replace my desk calculator is it?

Yep, same for me on my EVO...

I find it funny the OP goes off on something that works perfectly fine for everyone, but then this error pops up....

Same on my DX, I do not have the OP's problem though.

I'm not seeing the problem the OP has either. OP, are you sure you're not pressing another operation symbol after you press the equal button?

I am not getting this error on my Epic.

I am also not getting the error the OP is refering to. Calculator works fine.
